This has been a pretty momentous week. I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction, just one. The baby dropped. I don't know if this is the "dropping" the medical community talks about or not, but the baby definitely is sitting lower. And I'm officially waddling. I mentioned to Bill that I thought I had noticed walking differently, not being able to use my usual gait of one foot in front of the other (when I do, the belly swings from side to side - it is hysterical to see - and it really stretches those side ligaments). He said he had noticed that afternoon but wasn't going to say anything. He's such a thoughtful husband. I do think I believe him when he says I still don't look pregnant from behind, at least if you're not paying attention to my waddle. The childbirth classes also picked up. We have TONS of homework. My favorite is that Bill is supposed to practice massage techniques. Then there's the obligatory slow, deep breathing and stretches.
On the non-baby front, we also got a dining room table and chairs since the ground floor kitchen is going to be our main kitchen in the very near future. We spent more than 8 hours scrubbing every inch of that kitchen last Sunday. Now we just have to move everything in. It's going to be such a luxury to be able to pick up our dishes and walk just a few feet to the sink and dishwasher instead of hauling our dishes up and down the stairs. We also ordered a bathroom sink (one I'd previously ruled out) and the tile for the backsplash, so we just might be living completely on the ground floor by the end of the month. We also talk about finally hanging things on the wall. We'll post pics.
