(left) Ultrasound September 11th, at about 11 weeks. Amazing! Just over 4 cm long and actually looks like a baby. So, we're looking at names and talking about how much our life is going to change when baby comes next April. Other than that, we're still getting used to the idea, especially as I'm not showing. And really I think I've been pretty lucky. I've been insanely tired and more thirsty than normal, but otherwise feel good.

Friday we had our first check-up with the Midwives. All is A-OK. We also chose to participate in a centering group, which is a group approach to prenatal care. There are six other couples in the group. We're all first-timers but one. Each meeting will include a check up and then topics of care, like nutrition, breastfeeding, labor. So it sort of includes birthing instruction, but I'm looking at taking a class from a local doula as well as reading up. My stack of books at this point is more than two feet high. Some are just for giggles, like the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy and the Hip Momma's Survival Guide. I love used books!
Other than that, we're only 14 weeks and 1 day into this adventure!
